Founded by Doret and Elvis Kotherja, selling flight, ferry, bus tickets and insurance. That same year the first group of Albanians traveled to Macedonia! After six months of hard work, and door- to-door marketing, we have achieved much growth and have turned in a short time into one of the leading travel agents in the city of Elbasan, competing with two other travel agencies.
We have achieved a very high sales volume of tickets and also became one of the first Tour operators in Albania, offering round trips for Albanians to North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Croatia. Several roundtrips have been organized and the incomes from Tour Operating was even higher than the incomes from the Travel agency. We employed two more staff, to make four in our company.
Record sales from the travel agency (with Albanians traveling for vacations to Turkey), triple- digit growth on income and turnover. First Incoming services when a Bulgarian Group from Bulcard Travel started to work with us. In 2005, we invested in transportation and bought our first coach. 2005, we were Travel agency, Tour Operator, DMC, and Transport provider, with seven staff employed full time. We organized our first guide training trip to North Macedonia. In 2005 we participated for the first time in the International fair WTM London, and a year later in ITB Berlin. Since then, we have participated every year.
The first German Group arrived to our company, we started working with Studienreisen from Hamburg, Mr.Nikolitis Reisen. All other travel segments were growing. In the next year, we handled Cruise business for USA and Asian source markets clients.
We have been very strong on all segments, became IATA and started to invest in technology and digitization of our company processes and structures. By November, we officially joined the Lufthansa City Center network and participated in their annual Meeting in Dubrovnik. Our source market clients increased tremendously; we had clients mostly from DACH, Nordic, Asia, UK and USA and Canada! Our business borders have been extended to Vienna in the north, Bucharest and Istanbul in the east, Athens and Corfu in the south and Rome and Valleta in the west. First cruise call were handled on a direct contract to Durres and Saranda ports: adventure and active tours, travel segment consolidation, charter flights handling, etc.
The previous year of investments in networking, consistency of participation in trade fairs, conferences, forums and annual meetings, HR segment, digitization, transport and logistics allowed us to skyrocket the number of employees and turnover. By 2019, we had a clear vision and mission about what we stand for. Since we have achieved spectacular results, and our thinking went beyond being a tourism industry regional player, we have moved into the future by thinking of sustainability. We have gone through deep reorganization, clearly seeing the next 10-year development plan. We have seen evolution, re-branding and have become the first Travelife certified travel company in Albania. Our future is all about people and communities. By supporting and engaging them, we can secure growth and our brand future business model!
